Off to Alaska!
June 25, 2008
New location for photos, at least for now, we will be uploading photos along the way (providing we have wireless access) on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/27820370@N06/
Not sure if I’ll keep the blog going since we have flickr.
Super excited!
Memorial Day weekend in Central Park
May 29, 2008
Our mini wildlife excursion in Central Park last sunday, lots & lots of people! We managed to find the rambles for a bit of… trees, rocks, birds & squirrels, I seriously need to beef up my knowledge on photography in this setting, as you’ll see somethings don’t look so great, but here it is, we had fun and I guess that’s what matters most, Jeff brought the video camera as well to test out. Only 4 weeks until we are in Alaska! I really need to get more proficient on these exposures. I won’t even show the lake scenes because all the water looks yucky green. oh well, need to go back and test some more.
Jeff’s Birthday
May 15, 2008
A little late with the blog, been TOO busy lately and sick past couple of days with a cold, back to May 10th, Jeff’s Birthday, we had tickets to see “A Country Girl” starring Morgan Freeman among other greats, although it turned out to be not such a great play, but overall it was nice to see some star actors on stage in the 11th row.
Morgan Freeman seriously has a cult following, I like him but I really don’t get the drop dead faint stuff. Well ok, nobody dropped down, but the applause was like the pope walked in the room, and the laughter was like the dope walked in the room.
Here we are outside the theatre, a little cake later, we went to Jane’s on Houston Street for dinner, didn’t bring the camera so not so many pics.

West Village
April 20, 2008
Took a walk through the West Village this afternoon, it was a bit overcast but cool and relaxing. The streets are quite a maze in that area because it was originally part of the earlier settlers, before the birth of the grid as we know it. It’s sometimes nice in New York to stumble upon an L shaped street or dead end. I’m generally excited about anything that isn’t a Duane Reade (Duane Reade for those who don’t know is a chain drug store, it has taken over the city much like what Walmart has done in the burbs, most independently owned drug stores are gone, you can find a DR within a 3 block radius on any given corner), Chase bank or some mall store, it’s unfortunate that NY has lost so much small business, but small store owners are getting booted out by higher rents and it seems only Chase or Duane Reade can afford the prices these days. (oh, and I still can’t stop taking pictures of flowers!)
